{weston bend state park}

Tim and I love to go camping. Unfortunately, this summer hasn't given us many opportunities to - it seems like something is always going on. So, this weekend, we finally went. We packed up the car and headed out of town (a whole forty-five minutes out of town) Friday afternoon. We went up to Weston Bend State Park. The park was beautiful! The campsites were well maintained, there were trails galore, and it was only three miles outside of town. We went for a short hike Friday night to a lookout point - the view was really pretty with the hills and muddy MO below. Since all of the trails close at dusk, we headed back to the campsite for dinner. The next morning we woke up and went on a three mile hike through the woods.

After our hike and breakfast, we went horseback riding. Tim got me a trail ride as a gift and, just like camping, too many things had gotten in the way. Tim rode "Top Gun" and I rode "Horizon."

I hope that we get to go camping again before the season is over - just sitting back, listening to all of the bugs and looking up at the stars made us wonder why we don't do that every weekend.

yep! I wore them with leggings and a tunic. What was weird...I was the only one in boots! (besides the guide, of course)
